ETHICS AND SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Ethics and social responsibility are both much needed virtues in any current society. With criminal activities and neighborhood crimes being on the rise, ethics and social responsibility are quite in demand in this day and age. Ethics and social responsibility are capable of making a difference in the overall societal behavior, only if every individual takes it upon himself to be responsible.

Ethics and social responsibility may vary depending on the environment in which we are placed. In a corporate world, what may be thought of ethics may purely be restricted to the executive world. In certain circumstances, ethical behavior may not always be the right option but it may be the most decent way to deal with a problem. Ethics and social responsibilities are just a pre-defined set of rules to be followed in the working environment. While in the outside world, ethical and social responsibility is all about making the right decision.

Following ethics and social responsibility is not an easy job. It requires lot of patience and sacrifice on one’s part. Being ethical and accepting social responsibilities may not always result in one’s favor and sometimes may actually work in the opposite manner. A person who follows ethics may not be highly regarded in his office environment and may actually be ridiculed for behaving in an ethical and socially responsible way.

In a real life scenario, ethics and social responsibilities may end up causing more trouble than good but that is no reason to stop following them. If every individual decided to follow their ethical and social responsibilities, think of the kind of world we would have. However, ethics and social responsibilities must never be imposed upon anyone as it would never fetch the desired result. Unfortunately, imposing these practices often ends up causing a great number of individuals to actually act in an opposite manner.
